Track Talk: Track Systems in Winter

Whilst keeping horses on a track system offers an endless array of benefits, it's also hard work and often time consuming. When we add the dreaded, miserable and unforgiving weather of the UK into the mix, keeping a unsurfaced track system open through the Winter can be very challenging. 

Whether you're unable to surface due to renting your land, staying at a livery yard or simply don't have the funds like many of us don't, mud can become a big problem. Join us for this month's episode of Track Talk where we'll be talking about our own experience managing track systems in a protected area (and therefore unable to surface) and how we try our best to tackle our mud dilemma with renter friendly, budget friendly ideas to provide hardstanding and mud-free stations. Additionally, we'll also be dicussing what happens when the weather simply gets too bad or our undulating land unfortunately floods.
